Early Pregnancy Symptoms|Early Pregnancy Signs.

If you have had unprotected sex, you are bound to feel anxious whether it is going to make you pregnant or not. This is whether you want the pregnancy at that period of time or you don’t want it. You want to know if you will become pregnant.

So How Do You Know If You Are Pregnant.

If you experience the early pregnancy symptoms and signs given below, it is more than probable that you could be pregnant.  Along with the signs and symptoms, why they occur and what should be done, is also explained. 

Some women immediately notice any minor change in their body rhythm which can occur immediately after conception while some women may not notice any symptoms till after the fertilized egg has implanted itself on the uterine wall, which usually occurs about 6 days after conception or 8 days before your next expected period which will be a missed period if you have conceived (these figures are if you have regular 28 day cycle)..

A woman usually suspects she is pregnant when she misses her period. This is the most known symptom of pregnancy. But there are certain early signs and symptoms of pregnancy before missed period  which occur within a week after conception which can tell you that you are pregnant. At such times of anxiety, it is best to do a home pregnancy test which is fairly accurate if done right and at the right time. Confirmation with a pregnancy blood test is also advisable.

Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms.

Early pregnancy signs and symptoms vary from women to women. They may be absent or so slight so as to be difficult to detect.

Missed Period Due to Pregnancy.

There are other reasons why you may miss a period but generally this is a classic symptom and sign of early pregnancy. Correlate this symptom with others mentioned below and you can be quite sure that the missed period is due to pregnancy. A missed period often prompts many women to undergo a pregnancy test.

Why this symptom occurs. Stopping of your periods due to pregnancy is due to the rapidly increasing hormonal levels which occur after the fertilized egg  is implanted onto the uterine wall. However missed periods can also be due to other causes and not all pregnancies are free of periodic bleeding.

Other causes. Besides pregnancy, missed periods can also be due to excessive weight loss or weight gain, hormonal irregularities, stress, fatigue and stopping of oral contraceptive pills.

Pregnancy Implantation Bleeding: Spotting and Cramping.

A few days (usually about 6 days) after conception the fertilized egg gets implanted on the uterine wall which can cause vaginal spotting and cramps. This is called implantation bleeding and  can occur anywhere between 6 to 12 days after conception.  These cramps can be mistaken for menstrual cramps and the bleeding for that of the period.

Why this occurs.  Implantation bleeding occurs due to the implantation of the fertilized egg or ovum on the uterine wall and the changes in the uterus to prepare for subsequent pregnancy. However not much research has gone into finding the cause of this bleeding.

Other causes. Besides pregnancy, bleeding can also be due to other causes such as infection.
